Restoring Hope. You are not alone.
Team Courage was founded by a disabled Veteran who understands the unique challenges men face when experiencing abuse, PTSD, and isolation. We're not therapists — we're trained navigators who know who to call. We walk beside you through every step, protecting your identity with a Battle Roster Number system.
Male abuse is a worldwide catastrophe that few recognize. Our founder witnessed it firsthand during deployment — men suffering in silence with nowhere to turn. For abused women, there is plenty of assistance. For men — almost nothing. Team Courage exists to close that gap, with empathy, dignity, and action.
"The concept for Team Courage emerged during my most recent deployment, after witnessing many men discuss abuse in their marriages. At the time, I found myself in a similar predicament — a dark, isolating place with no one to turn to. I established Team Courage to be the team I wish I had."
Our staff are not therapists or clinicians. We are trained, compassionate navigators — the steady presence beside you who connects you to the right help at every step.
Leiba is the Service Dog of our founder, MAJ Courage. Her presence during his recovery inspired Team Courage's Service Dog Services program — because no Veteran should ever have to worry about their Service Dog's care during a health crisis.
VA regulations prohibit hospital staff from walking a Veteran's service dog. That means a hospitalized Veteran faces an impossible choice — and their family is torn between being at their bedside and caring for the dog. We step in to alleviate that pressure entirely. One of our goals is to partner directly with VA hospitals on an admission intake form, created by us, so we can immediately "spin up" whatever support is needed from the moment of admission.
